heroes

I want to talk a bit about some of my heroes.  There are some people in my life that have influenced me in remarkable ways.  The people they are, and the things they do and believe have affected me in incredible ways:

Grandma Gibson:
This woman is incredible. She touches people's hearts with her words.  The things she says are profound and sincere.  She writes poetry and has been my inspiration for my writing.  She taught me how to appreciate beautiful things.  Sunsets and the moon are two of the things she loves the most.  We'll be at her house and she'll take something outside and come back saying, "oh, everyone, come out here! You have to see the sunset!" or something of the sort.  She also loves, and loves things no matter what.  She accepts everyone for who they are and loves them always.  I love this woman.

Grandma Thueson:
It makes me sad that not everyone has the delight of knowing this wonderful person.  She is everything the word good entails.  Her story is one of my favorites.  Growing up, she faced more hardships than I can even comprehend. She and her family didn't live in a house, not like the kind you and I enjoy.  She and her family lived in tents, for two long, painstaking years.  They lived in those tents through two winters in Idaho and so much more that would have been hard to bear.  When she was twelve her mother died, and with that event came the responsibility of being the mother of the house.  She cooked, looked after, and took care of the family at just twelve years old.  I think that is why she is the person she is today.  She learned how to nurture and love at such a young age that she has become better than anyone else at it.  I admire her and the things she has gone through.  She is so incredibly sweet and thoughtful.  She has also been my inspiration for another wing of my artistic endeavors, she is an artist.  She can sit down with paper and paint, and create something utterly breathtaking in a matter of seconds.  I love my grandma, and am so blessed to have her example in my life.

My dearest Mother:

Where to begin.  My mom is the "everything girl", because she does everything.  She fixes, she cooks, she cleans, she creates, she irons, she camps, she bikes, she paints, she designs, she loves, she nurtures, she sews,  she spreads light.   My beautiful mom is seriously incredible.  She is my best friend, my mom and my hero.  She has an unmistakable light she spreads by a simple interaction with somebody.  Her sweet spirit is contagious, and everything about her is wonderful.  I feel so blessed to have a mother like her.  I know she learned how to be such a wonderful person and mother from her mom, Grandma Thueson.  She is my light and my joy.  I don't know many other mom's that do as much as she does; like waking up every morning to make me breakfast before school, or staying up through all hours of the night to help me with a homework assignment.  I love her more than I can express.  She is indeed, a hero.

My Sweet Sister:

My sister is wonderful, in every way. We are so alike, and that helps us to love each other because we understand each other like on one else does.  She is one of the most selfless people I know, and her heart is enormous.  She cares about people with the most sincere part of her being.  She and I are absorbers, we absorb other people's emotions and take some ownership over them, like they are our own.  Hannah does this every day, that is, when someone around her is having a bad day she really listens, and absorbs the emotion and wants to help.  She feels things so deeply, and really thinks about how she feels.  She wants everyone to feel happy, so she is constantly working to achieve that.  Hannah is always there for me, one hundred percent.  I am so, so grateful for her and everything she does for me.

I love these people so much, and look up to them every day.  They help me overcome obstacles and help me see the light in the world around me.  These people are my heroes, because they are outstanding people, though they have all had incredible hardships.  I am blessed, to have these great people in my life.
